I just noticed at home that the look & feel of live search has changed. Steve Balmer recently stated that Microsoft is updating its whole live experience and certainly search. Could this be a new step forward to a renewed platform? Recently I found myself using live search more and more instead of google.

Yep, you read that right: Windows Live Writer is out of beta. I've been using it for quite a while, since the betas, and found it a decent blog writer. One thing though was that it was a bit tough to include source code. Luckily it's possible to create plugins. One of those plugins is created by one of my VISUG collegues Christoph to insert, you guessed correctly, source code. You can download SyntaxColor4Writer here.

I just read this news: Windows Live Gallery goes 2.0.

Taken from the original blog post:

Now you have one-stop-shopping for all your miniapps; Sidebar Gadgets, Toolbar buttons, Web Gadgets, SideShow Gadgets, as well as appearance properties like Display Pictures, Emoticons, and Messenger Winks.

While some of the areas, like Emoticons and Winks, are not populated yet, the other areas are fully staffed including
all 807 Sidebar Gadgets.

You can visit the gallery directly at http://gallery.live.com/

After months of using the Beta variant of this new incarnation of messenger, and with a rechristianed name that makes it a part of the whole new Live productline, I got my hands on the final bits. Since I installed IE7 Beta 2 I also put http://search.live.com/ as my personal home page. I really dig the AJAXised scrollable overview of the found resources. If you haven't checked it out yet, you really should!

If you want your copy just browse to http://get.live.com/messenger/overview.
