Some time ago I was looking at the implementation of some of the standard controls provided with .NET Framework. From what I have seen it is not a mystery why it takes so long to release the CSS Friendly adapters for the controls.
The problem is that adapters let you change the way the controls are rendered. The problem is however that often the original Render method has a lot of logic that should not be there and it has to be somehow replaced with what the new adapters do.
Nevertheless I'm happy that the control adapters are here :-)
